Tim Holtz Halloween Inspiration Series: Frightful Skull Card

Hello friends! The Tim Holtz Halloween Series continues and the project have been AMAZING! Todays project features a fun masking technique using the Dripping Texture Fade embossing folder to make a creepy background for our Skull and Candlelight Bigz dies.

BEWARE…..FRIGHTFUL SKULL CARD!!

Emboss a piece of cardstock with the Dripping Texture Fade. Cut around the embossed Drips to create a mask.

Using the Dripping Texture Fade emboss a piece of paper from the Regions Beyond Paper Stash. Sand the raised area with a Sanding Grip.

Lay the mask over the background paper lining up the Drips. Ink the Drips using Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Pull the mask away to reveal the colored Dripping.

Distress the edges with the Paper Distresser and Ink with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Apply Distress Ink directly to your Craft Sheet and spritz with water.

Swipe Skull die cut through ink and dry with a heat tool. Repeat as desired.

Ink the edges with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Adhere a piece of Regions Beyond Paper Stash to chipboard with Multi Medium and let dry.

Die cut Candle pieces with the Candlelight Bigz Die.

Color the candle pieces with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Adhere all the layers with Glossy Accents.

Add a piece of dictionary paper behind the eyes, nose etc. Ink the paper with Distress Ink to create a little glow.

The new Oddities Adornments are the perfect touch to add to the Linen ribbon with a Loop Pin and a few Jump Rings.

For a little added inspiration…I created this piece with some of the same techniques for a workshop I taught over the weekend.
You'll notice that it has the Skull, Candlelight Bigz die and the Dripping Texture Fade.
The possibilities are endless!

Thanks for coming by!

Halloween Inspiration Series: Spooky Cards

Hello friends! Are you loving the Halloween Inspiration series over on the Tim Holtz blog? The projects have been so AMAZING!!! Don't you think?

Today's project features embossing with ink on your Texture Fade, coloring Deco Sheets with Alcohol Inks and die cutting tricks to use on Thinlit dies to make your life easier.

Rub the ink on to the Texture Fade directly from the ink pad. My favorite ink for this technique is Archival ink. The color comes out with good coverage and the color is smooth. Don't worry you can clean the Texture Fade later with stamp cleaner.

Once the Texture Fade is inked carefully insert a piece of Kraft-core cardstock in to the folder.

Run it through your machine to ink and emboss the image in one pass.

Love the contrast and how it shows off the embossed design! These are just a few of the new Tim Holtz Texture Fades embossing folder for 2015…the Zig Zag, Cobwebs and Batground. I think Batground is my favorite. Which one do you like?

Halloween Treat Bags!

Hello friends! Halloween treat bags are always a favorite of mine, they are perfect for the Grandkids, friends or a Halloween Party. I always try to utilize dies that I already have and mix them with some of the new must haves. The stand by dies I use over and over again...the Labels Thinlits die set and "In the Bag" Bigz dies. Add in some of my new favorite dies like the NEW Jack-o-lantern Bigz die, Handwritten and Script Halloween Words Thinlits sets and the Movers and Shaper Tiny Bat, Cross and Shield set.
All great additions to my stash and for our project today.

Die cut the Bag using some of the NEW Tim Holtz Regions Beyond Mini Paper Stash. The paper comes in 8" x 8" and has lots of different designs in a great color palette of black, orange and cream. Ideal for Halloween!

STAMPtember at Simon Says Stamp and the NEW Tim Holtz Stamp set.

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to be a part of the festivities for the NEW Simon Says Stamp exclusive set from Tim Holtz and Stampers Anonymous. After you look around here, don't forget to check out all the inspiration over at Simon Says Stamp blog

Here's the new set!
So many favorites...the party hat…the coffee cup and the clock…actually I love them all!
I think the size is ideal for card making! I fell in love with last years set and have used it all year long. I was so happy to add another set to the collection!

Love how fast these cards came together with just a few supplies.
The New Exclusive Stamp Set by Tim Holtz, Distress Markers, Distress Stain, Waterbrush, Type Tokens, Watercolor Cardstock, Kraft-core cardstock, Jute String, Loop Pins and Postage Stamp Frame Bigz Die for the card shape.

Create a wrinkle free distress background by applying Distress Stain directly to your Craft Sheet and swiping Watercolor cardstock through the ink and dry with a Heat Tool. Repeat as desired.

Add a little ink through a Layering Stencil using Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

The New Distress Sprayer has a feature that I love…if you pull the trigger slowly is spits water droplets to create light spots on your background.

Stamp the image of your choice from the the Simon Says Stamp Tim Holtz Exclusive Stamp set on to the background piece with Jet Black Archival Ink.

Using the Distress Spritzer and Distress Markers add a little extra texture. The Distress Spritzer also fits other brands of markers.

Stamp another image on to Watercolor Cardstock and trim out with scissors.

Color image with Distress Marker and blend the color with a Waterbrush.

Cut a piece of Watercolor cardstock a little larger then the background pieces for a matt. Ink with an Ink Blending tool for the perfect match.

Score and fold a piece of Kraft-core Cardstock large enough to die cut the Postage Stamp Bigz Die with the fold just inside the the cutting blades to create the card. Sand and ink the card with Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.

Add a little Distress Paint to the Typed Tokens, let partially dry then rub off excess paint and paint will remain in the word.
Assemble your card by adhering the layers together, add a little stitching if desired and attach some embellishments.

I think this one is my favorite!
"Today is a Good Day"

Thanks Heidi and the gang over at Simon Says Stamp for asking me to join in on the FUN!
Thank you so much for stopping in!
