Hi friends! Today I'm excited to show you the new Tim Holtz Shatter Stencil from Stampers Anonymous. The detail on the stencil is amazingly fine. Perfect for a spider web don't you think?
My spooky card features the shatter stencil of corse, the skull blueprint stamp and die set and a little new distress paint. Loving these new colors.
I started with a piece of black Kraft-core cardstock cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" then scored and folded in half for our card. Center the shattered stencil on the front of the card. Tape the stencil down with tissue tape. Cut a piece of blending foam in half. Shake the distress paint and apply a little to your craft sheet. Pick up a little paint with the blending tool. Pounce with an up and down motion to apply the paint to the card.
Add your colors one at a time. I used ripe persimmon, dusty concord and crushed olive distress paint. Carefully remove the tape and your background is done. Let dry. Don't forget to clean your stencil. Sand the edges of the card with a sanding grip to reveal the core of the cardstock. Ink with gathered twigs distress ink on an ink blending tool.
Stamp and die cut the skull pieces. Ink with iced spruce distress ink on an ink blending tool. For fun I inked the eyes with ripe persimmon distress ink.
Layer the skull onto the card with foam tape. Stamp happy halloween with jet black archival ink and the border with seedless preserves. Tie black and white paper string around the card. Attach the massage with foam tape and add the number 31 plaquette.
I love the look of the colorful spiderweb behind the scary skull. Adds the perfect touch!
Have you tried using stencil? They're so easy and versatile.
Head over to Tim Holtz and Paula Cheney's blog, I know I can't wait to see what they made with the NEW shatter stencil.
Thanks for stopping in!
