CSI Challenge

The Sizzix Design Team was challenged to join in with CSI (Color, Stories Inspiration) for the month of March.
This is what it is ..."CSI is a weekly scrapbooking challenge that inspires you to try new colors schemes and to tell your stories. Our Case Files provide inspiration that will get you thinking about scrapbooking in a whole new way."

Here is Case file NO.61what beautiful colors!!!

Here is the inspiration for my layout. I only had to go as far as my backyard to find the yellow and orange from the case file. I'm so lucky to live in Northern California where spring comes early!

This is the finished layout! I love how the flowers seem to come right out of the photo and onto my page. I used several dies to create lots of texture. The "dreaming of spring" is die cut from the Sizzlits die called alphabetical.

I used the Movers and Shapers Mini Butterflies die to cut the white Butterflies, coated them with Rock Candy Dry Distress Glitter, then sewed them to my page. Also stamping some butterflies in the background creates some good contrast.

The matte for the photos is also from watercolor paper colored with Distress Stain. Using Distress Stain made it easy to match the case file colors. Pop dot the photos to the layout.

Die cut several flowers using the Tattered Floral Bigz die from watercolor paper. Color them with Distress Stain. (Scattered Straw, Dried Marigold and a little Tattered Rose) Let dry and ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink on an Ink Blending tool. On the larger flowers I stamped the script using Pumice Stone Distress Ink. Shape the flowers a little bit by curving the petals up or down. The orange flowers were also coated with Rock Candy dry glitter. Love that sugar coating. Add a button to the center and adhere to your layout.

The Distressed Doily is an On the Edge die from the Alteration line. I just tucked it under the photos and tied my ribbon over the edge with a bow.

Thanks CSI for including us in the challenge. I had fun using the CSI case file as my starting point.

Just a reminder!!  Leave a comment for a chance to win a Tattered Floral die on yesterdays post before March 22nd.

Thanks for stopping by...
