Playing with Texture Paste!

Hello all!  I have been so inspired by all the new product…so much FUN!

This was the picture I posted on Instagram and Facebook yesterday just to tease you a little. 

To get started tape your Layering Stencil to a piece of Manila cardstock. Pick up some Texture Paste with a palette knife. 

Spread the paste over the stencil. It's ok to make a few passes to get good coverage. 

Pick up the excess Texture Paste. You wouldn't want any to go to waste and return it to the bottle. Once you're done with the paste put the lid back on. This will keep the paste from drying out. 

Carefully pull off the stencil. Wash your stencil and palette knife while the paste is still wet. This will make for easy clean up. 

After the paste dries it's time to color. Re-tape the stencil positioning it over the dry paste. Apply Distress Marker to the Texture Paste just like you would color on watercolor cardstock. Use the water brush to blend out the color. Be careful not to use too much water on the brush. I use a towel to dry off the tip if it gets too wet. 

Stamp the Handwritten message with jet black Archival Ink. Matt with a piece of red card stock and stitch around the outside. Tie a big bow around the card. You could stop here but I decided to add a little more. 

I mounted my image to at green card. Using Ice Spruce Distress Marker and your Spritzer add a little background texture. 

Stamp the Mini Blueprint Poinsettia onto Watercolor Cardstock. 

Color with Distress Markers then blend with the Detail Water Brush. Add a little Glossy Accent and Antique Linen Distress Glitter to the center. 

Adhere the Poinsettia over the bow. 

It's amazing how much the Texture Paste reacted like Watercolor cardstock. 

I also tried the Texture Paste on a Burlap Panel. 
WOW! Amazing…can't wait to get some time to finish it up.

    Fabulous card, brilliant new stencil and I love how the paste takes the colour!! Great way to finish it too with the poinsettia with the ribbon just behind!!

    Wow Richele, this is awesome! Now I have to add texture paste, some more markers and the marker spritzer to my shopping list. Can't wait to try this. And did I mention I love vintage Christmas stuff...so got to have these stencils so I can make my own cards this Christmas. Hopefully 5 months is enough time to actually get them done this year, LOL?! Thanks for the beautiful inspiration. Love, love, love this!

    Richele, love it! Your card Is amazing. When the texture paste dries, is the texture rough? Just wondering if the distress marker's tips will hold up? Can't wait to see what you do with the burlap canvas. I love the damask stamp and now I have to get that Gothic Stencil and some paste. My want list never stops growing! Thanks for sharing :)
