I taught a couple card classes at Stampers Corner in Elk Grove, California this last Saturday "Cards to Die/cut For" and a class on "Distress Cards".
Thanks ladies for such an amazing day!
Here are the samples the ladies made in the die cut card class! A little from many of the designers at Sizzix. Karen Burniston, Stephanie Barnard, Tim Holtz and some of the new Thinlits. These dies are so much fun!
I love this Accordion 3-D flip album die from Karen Burniston! It's a fun way to make an interactive card or an accordion album. It's definitely a must have!
Die cut 2 pieces from the Accordion 3-D flip Bigz die. You should use a good quality card stock for this project to create a sturdy base card.
When using dies that have scores and folds it's important to use a crease pad. This will insure that the die cuts and scores correctly.
Click here for step by step instructions from Karen.
Remember you will only have 2 panels for our card.
Die cut 2 small frame pieces with the "Frame, Bracket, and Label Die" Bigz die using the little red polka dot paper from the Basic Grey "Clippings" 6" x 6" pad. I love this collection of paper. Use Vintage Photo Distress ink on an Ink Blending tool to distress the edges.
Die cut the XO and the Hugs & Kisses from the Stacked Valentine words Sizzlit strip from Red Kraft'core and black stitched decorative card stock.
Ink the XO with Vintage Photo Distress Ink on an Ink Blending tool.
Pop dot the heart and the XO to the label. Add a little message with some Chit Chat words. Love these fun words, you can color the kraft or white words to go with any project. Ink the edges with Vintage Photo Distress ink on an Ink Blending tool and pop dot your message to the card.
Pop dot the decorated label to the front of the card.
Color the "&" with a Black Soot Distress Marker.
Pop dot the message to the small die cut label.
The fun thing about this paper twine is it can be colored to match any project. I used Vintage Photo Distress ink on an Ink Blending tool to add a little color to the white part of the twine so it matched my project.
Tie the twine around the label with a heart charm and a bow. Pop dot the decorated label to the back of the card.
Adhere the crown to the front of the card use a good adhesive like Claudine's Studio Matte Medium. Now you're ready to send your card to someone special.
Thanks for stopping by. Have a great day!
