HAPPY SUMMER!
Well, after thinking about this project for almost a whole month, why so long???? Who knows...Anyway the challenge this month at Inspiration Emporium is "Create a little Sunshine".
I took a beachy approach with this beautiful shell engraving stamp from Hero Arts. I love this set. The set has flowers, butterflies, shells and more.
I've also been wanting to show you more then one use for your Sizzix dies. I created a stencil using template plastic that I bought from my local fabric chain. I found the template material in the quilting department. You could also use packaging or even card stock. I like a plastic type material so you can easily be washed after you use it. Position the stencil over a #8 tag. Pounce the Blending tool over the stencil in an up and down motion with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.
While the ink is still wet add clear embossing powder and heat. This is the beauty of distress ink it stays wet longer.
Stamp the Old Letter Writing over the hole background with Sepia Archival Ink. Wipe off the ink where the numbers are. You want to use a waterproof ink because we are going to get wet on the next step.
Now let's do a little wrinkle free distress. Apply several colors of distress ink to your craft sheet. Spray with Heirloom Gold Perfect Pearls Mist. and swipe your tag through the ink.
This is the part where you go ahhh! Dry your tag with a Heat-It Tool.
Apply more ink by swiping through the ink and then drying. Keep layering the inks until you achieve the desired look. I also distress the edges of the tag with a
Paper Distresser and Walnut Stain Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool.
Now lets work on the shell. I stamped the shell on a piece of white card stock with London Fog Memento ink. I colored the shell with Copic markers. Distress the edges with a paper distresser and then ink with Vintage Photo Distress ink on an Ink Blending tool. Matt the shell with a dark brown card stock and add brads. Pop dot to tag and add a hinge clip with a brad to the top.
Add bottels by poking a few holes in the tag, one hole on either side and a hole in the middle. Attach bottles by threading wire through the holes and ...
Bend the wire around the neck of the bottles, twist the wire together on the back of the tag to secure them.
Once the bottles are secure, tie twine around the bottle neck with a bow. Don't forget the star charm. Add some dried flowers or dried grass to the bottles.
Pick some words from Tim's "Chit Chat", Ink the edges with Vintage Photo and pop dot to the tag. Love these! They come in white and kraft. And they are inkable so the possibilities are endless..
You can join in and upload your Create a little Sunshine project at Inspiration Emporium. Just click here and the details are at the bottom of the post.
You could win $50 in Emporium dollars. WOW!
Good luck!
