Vintage America Card!

Happy Birthday America!
Independence Day in the United States is the Biggest Birthday Celebration in the world! This year we are celebrating 236 years since the Declaration of Independence was adopted.

To get in the spirit the Inspiration Team at Inspiration Emporium is at it again, our challenge for July is "Bring on the Red, White and Blue" oh my! So, here's the card I created for the challenge. I used the Old Glory Bigz die to die cut the stars stripes and the embossing is done with the America Background and Border set Texture fade.

Die cut 5 rows of red stars using Kraft'Core then emboss the stripes as shown above. These stripes will become the strips for the flag. From blue Kraft'Core I embossed the word "America" and then trimmed it close on the top and bottom to create a strip. Cut a mat of red Kraft'Core to go under the America strip.

Next up is to sand all the parts. The textured Kraft'Core looks so distressed when sanded. be careful with the stars they are a little delicate.

Now add some Vintage Photo Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool to all the pieces.

Tear a piece of Tissue Wrap - Terminology from the District Market Line to simulate a flag shape. Trim off the excess.

Adhere the tissue wrap piece and the America to the base card.

Pop dot the stars to the flag. I used the skinnier pop dots. Tear a piece of blue Kraft'Core for the star field.

I also die cut more stars from a manilla tag then painted a few coats of Picket Fence Distress Stain. Don't forget to add Vintage Photo Distress Stain to the edges of the stars with an Ink Blending Tool. When dry pop dot the white stars in a circle to the blue field.

I created a flag pole by cutting a small strip from craft card stock, embossed it with the stripes border and inked it with Vintage photo. Tie twine at the top of the pole and wrap around once. Pop dot the pole only at the top and glue at the bottom.

Show your spirit and Bring on your Red, White and Blue! Hop over to the Inspiration Emporium blog to see what the rest of the Inspiration Team is up to for their projects.
I guarantee you will be Inspired!!

I really appreciate you all stopping in for a few.
