Computer or Tablet Sleeve with Palette Purple by Tim Holtz

Hello Friends! I'm back with another sewing project using the Tim Holtz Palette Purple Collection. I also added in some of my favorites from the Palette Yellow Collection. I love this combination it's so happy! I found some inspiration on Pinterest for this pattern and good news it's FREE.
I changed it slightly and added patchwork to the outside. This pattern is Fat Quarter friendly except for the lining!

The pattern is by Olivia Jane Handcrafted. You can see her post here.

Create your patchwork as desired. I used a 2 1/2" block for a 2" finished block.

Layer with Soft and Stable and quilt as desired. I've used a grid that stitches through the corners of the blocks.

Add yellow binding to the top inside edge of the sleeve. Fold the bottom up 7 1/4" and pin or clip.

Round the corners of the flap. I used a 2 1/2" circle. I only rounded the flap and not the bottom edge.

Add the bias binding around the sides and top flap.

I added a snap closure so my computer will be secure.

I love the pop of yellow with the purple patchwork.

Thanks for stopping by and Happy Sewing!

Butterfly Pillow with Tim Holtz Palette Fabrics in Purple

Hi Friends! Todays project is with the oh so pretty Palette Purple fabrics by Tim Holtz for FreeSpirit Fabrics. I have been waiting to work with the Purple fabrics for a few months now. I opened the box of Purple and knew I needed to make something special that showed off the fabric. This butterfly pillow was the perfect pattern and is done with Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP). Foundation Paper Piecing is great for more intricate designs like this butterfly. The pillow is Fat Quarter friendly as you will only need little pieces to create this design.

I think the Palette Purple was the perfect choice for this Butterfly Pillow.

Look at all the gorgeous Palette Purple Fabrics.

Our pattern today in the Butterfly by Center Street Quilts.
You can find the pattern here

First I cut out all the sections of the pattern pieces for Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) then
I started to sew the fabrics together.  When working with FPP you add your fabric on the back side of the paper and sew from the other side like in the photo.

Here I have sewed a few sections together.

The pattern is 12" x 10" so I added sashing on all four side and cut to 16" x 16" for the pillow.

I've used the Purple Marble for the binding to finish off the pillow.
and the back of the pillow has an overlap to so you're able to wash the pillow cover.

I LOVE how the pillow turned out with the Palette Purple fabrics.
What will you make with Palette Purple.
Thanks for stopping by and happy sewing!
