Falling Stars Quilt

Hi friends! I'm so happy to present you quilt #4 for this year "Falling Stars"!  This quilt is made with the new Yuletide fabric collection from FreeSpirit Fabrics designed by Tim Holtz. The fabrics are stunning and make this quilt shine. Pattern is Star Fall from Quilty Love Patterns designed by Emily Dennis.

"Falling Stars"

Here is the Yuletide fabric collection available now at your local quilt shop.
I used 10 of the 12 fabrics for the backgrounds of the stars.

Fabric requirements for the the lap size 60" x 72"

Star Backgrounds - 1/3 yard each of 10 fabrics
3 - reds (Peppermint Stripe, Tidings, Snowflakes)
3 - blacks (Festive Greens, Tidings, Winter Plaid)
3 - greens (Golden Baubles, Festive Greens, Holiday Symphony)
1 - Winter Village

White Star fabric - 2 1/4 yards
Binding - 1/2 yard
Backing - 4 yards

Star Fall by Emily Dennis is an instant download or you can always purchase a paper pattern. I love how easy Emily's patterns are to follow.

I made the stars and this is the first layout for the quilt all the rows of color, but.....

I really liked the stars all mixed up. That way I could use more of the cute Winter Village fabric.

Once I figured out the layout I sewed them all together.

Here I am quilting with a decorative stitch on my machine.

The stitch reminds me of little clouds.

I washed the quilt and fell in love with the stitching.

Look how fun the Peppermint Stripe Fabric is for the binding!

What will you make with the new Yuletide collection?
I already have my next project in sight.

Thank for stopping by!

Memoranda - Plus and Minus Quilt

Hello friends! I hope your all doing well!
I'm back with a lovely quilt using the Memoranda and Provisions fabric lines together. The fabric is from FreeSpirit Fabrics designed by Tim Holtz.

I love how Provisions adds a pop of color for the plus signs.

Here is the pattern! If you're new to quilting this is a great pattern. the pieces are larger and the instructions are easy to follow. Emily Dennis from Quilty Love patterns is a favorite of mine.

After I cut all my pieces I sewed the blocks together.

Then laid the blocks and pieces out on the floor. I really need to make a design wall for this!

I sewed all the pieces and blocks together then decided I wanted to add a border to make it a little larger.

I prepped the layers for quilting. I'm using a new kind of batting to me. It's a Bamboo and Cotton blend and I really didn't notice any difference when I quilted it but when it was washed it puffed up so nicely.

Stay Safe and healthy my friends.

Thanks for stopping by!
