New Stamps and Stencils oh my!

Hello…today is a very happy day! 

The new Tim Holtz Stamps and Stencils from Stampers Anonymous are now revealed. I think a happy dance is in order don't you think! 

FYI Tim will be demoing at the Carson Rubber Stamp Show in Southern California so I hope you will stop by to say hi and pick up your favorite stamp sets and stencils!  

Look at all this creative fun just waiting to happen! 

Just add Distress Ink or Paint or Stain or you get the idea! 

Here are the Stamp Sets...

And you know I had to make a card...

Cut a piece of manilla card stock to size for your card front. Stamp the Witch and Greeting with Jet Black Archival Ink from CMS#197 Carved Halloween. I think this might be my favorite set. Stamp the moon with Wild Honey Distress Ink from CMS #199 Halftone Halloween. 

Create a background using the wrinkle free distress technique. Apply ink to your craft sheet, spritz with water, drag manilla card stock through the ink and dry with a heat tool. Repeat until desired effect is achieved. 

Hand color the Witch and Pumpkin by apply Distress Marker directly to your craft sheet, pick the ink up with the Detail Water Brush and color the images. Spritz the background with a Distress Spritzer and Iced Spruce Distress Marker. (sorry I forgot to take a photo) I was to busy creating! 

Stitch around the outside of the card with black thread. Ink the edges with Black Soot Distress Ink on an Ink Blending Tool. 

Mount your image to a purple card. Add a few Apothecary Remnant Rubs to the card and it's all done. 

I don't know about you but I love the holidays especially Halloween. I think it because you get to be a big kid and no one gives you a bad time about it.

Frameworks and Eclectic Elements Fabric…Serendipitous!

Hi friends! 

Back when I was sewing for Quilt Market, Tim challenged me to create some projects using his Frameworks dies. Hummm! 

The result was serendipitous!

I started by testing a few combinations. 

Then this happened…serendipitous right? Look at how those bottle caps line up in the centers. WOW it was meant to be. 

I was off and running. I covered several pieces of Phoomph with fabric (available at Joann fabric stores). Phoomph is sort of like a soft fun foam that is sticky on both sides and it doesn't gum up your needle. It comes in several colors like white, black, pink, blue and is available in soft and stiff. I used black, soft Phoomph. Cover one side of the Phoomph with the Black Worn Croc Eclectic Elements fabric. Cut down the pieces to fit the die. Die cut several pieces with the Courtyard Frameworks die. Once the pieces are die cut peel off the backing on the Phoomph and line up the Top Shop Eclectic Elements Fabric (bottle caps) with the die cut pieces. You will need to play with the fabric to get it to line up. I used my tweezers to help manipulate the die cut pieces to fit. 

After you have all the pieces positioned together trim off the fabric hanging over the die cut. 

Here is a peek at the back side. 

Pin the piece to the backing fabric and sew down the center of the die cuts. 

I used a contrasting thread for the topstitching so it would enhance the design. 

Not only did I make the pillow, I also made this fun zipper pouch to hold important stuff! 

Even the lining  on the inside is fun. 

I hope you will try some fun projects with Eclectic Elements Fabric.
