Inspiration Emporium November Challenge

It's time for another awesome Inspiration Emporium challenge. November's challenge is "Thanksgiving/Fall Place Setting Ideas". We would love to see your ideas and you could win $50.00. Click here for all the details.

Make your place settings beautiful this Thanksgiving with this fall pillow box. You can put a surprise of chocolate in the box for your guest. Who wouldn't love that!

Check out my new technique with Distress Stickles Dry Glitter!
Let's work on the leaves first! Cover a piece of chipboard with the Terminology Tissue Wrap using a glue stick. I covered a 6 x 12 piece of chipboard.

Smooth out any bubble using a Craft Scrapper and let dry.

From your chipboard piece die cut the leaves with the Mini Tattered Leaves Movers and Shapers Die in your base tray.

For Tim's October tag he colored the Distress Stickles Dry Glitter with alcohol inks and this got me thinking. Why couldn't you adhere the glitter first and then alcohol ink it so you could get an agate effect. So off to the studio to try just that. I adhered the Dry Glitter with Rock Candy Distress Crackle Paint. No it won't crackle, (I know this because that was a previous experiment). I like the effect of the Crackle paint better then other glues I tried.

Set the leaves aside to dry.

Apply a small amount of Alcohol Ink (a 1-2 second squeeze) and add a squeeze of Blending Solution to an Ink Applicator tool with felt. I found that if you didn't use Blending Solution the leaves were to dark. Pounce the ink onto the leaves. I love that you can see the dictionary print from the Tissue Wrap. Color the leaves different colors just like fall!

Die cut the box with the Pillow Box die from the Tim Holtz Alterations line with Kraft card stock. Love this die it's just the right size for a gift card, a little chocolate bar, a small treat.

Stamp the Acorn or Leaves from the Autumn Blueprint set with Jet Black Archival Ink.

Color the Acorn with Distress Markers.

Wash the image with a water brush to blend the colors.

Assemble the box by adhering the tab.

Ink the edges of the box with Vintage Photo Distress Ink on an Ink Blending tool.

Glue the leaves to the top of the Acorn. Add the little tag with your guests name that has been stamped with Jet Black Archival ink. Tie a bow with paper string and add to the leaves. I love the look of the leaves, the sparkle and the colors. Happy accidents come when you are willing to try something new.

I hope you will join in on the challenge! We would love to see your Thanksgiving table decoration. Head over to Inspiration Emporium to see more amazing inspiration!
